![]() I happened to run into the guy I sold it to maybe 15 months after selling it to him and he said he'd racked up another 100,000 miles (also as a hot-shot driver) and still hadn't had any problems at all out of the truck. My last truck was a 2014 and I ran it to 470,000 miles following the same pattern with the Mag-Hytec pan and the same filter/fluid change schedule and it was also still going strong when I sold it after I bought the 2018. ATS Case Brace Transmission Support Bracket 68RFE/545RFEFitment: 2007½-current Ram 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins/2003-current Ram HemiWe have created this 68RFE transmission case brace to eliminates cracking that can happen when hauling large loads, towing heavy, and working your Dodge 6.7L Cummins to its full potential. In fact I have never had any problems at all and never had to do anything but change tires and brakes on this 2018, though I did upgrade all 4 of the factory rotors to the Hawk Performance "Talon" Rotors (awesome!) and Power Stop Carbon-Fiber Ceramic Brake pads which stop great, keep the wheels spotless (nice!) and seem to wear MUCH longer than anything else the parts stores sell. My transmission has always ran cool (about 177 degrees) and now at 332,000 miles is still going strong so far. Then I changed fluid/filters again at 60,000 miles, and since then have changed the fluid twice more at 140k miles and 220k miles and 300,000 miles. I use Valvoline ATF+4 Full Synthetic fluid. The 68RFE transmission was introduced onto the market in 2007 and faithfully served the one and three quarter ton Ram’s for the next five. The first week I had it I ordered a Mag-Hytec deep sump transmission pan with the drain plug in it from Amazon (I will share the direct link at the bottom) and I changed the fluid/filters after about 4k miles when I put on the new pan because I did one lightly loaded trip while waiting on the pan and that was good because it gave just enough time for any stuff left over from the manufacturing process to get caught in the filters (also changed the engine oil/filter early the first time for the same reason). 68RFE, 5R110W, 700R4, 2004R, TH350, TH400, 42RLE,, 4L60E, 4L80E, Dodge. 68RFE transmission super sale This 6-speed automatic was developed specifically for the Dodge Ram 25 series trucks and the 6.7 Liter Cummings engine. I hot-shot with mine in my 2018 2500HD Laramie 4x4 so 95%+ of my trucks miles are towing, sometimes heavy stuff, and my truck now has 332,000 miles on it and I'm still running the original 68RFE and never had a bit of problems with it.
